Rocwater glides gracefully across the many styles of their repetoire.....at any one moment, in any one of their songs, you may catch glimpses of Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, Gomez, The Beatles, Dave Mathews, The Kings Of Convenience, Tenacious D, Jack Johnson, Ryan Adams, Tom Waits, Jeff Buckley, The Beautiful Girls, Mason Jennings... but then again, Rocwater’s sound so is fresh and original that they really only sound like themselves, have a listen and make up your own mind.
"Following on from Missy Higgins and The Waifs, Rocwater - the next big ABC discovery!"

"Rocwater, the next Big Big act to explode on the Australian Music Scene. The songs on their ep Happy at Home are so dangerously addictive and catchy - you can’t stop singing them - they stick to the roof of your mouth like peanut butter."
.............................................................................Brian Lizotte
"Rocwater’s ep has been on my mind since I first heard it.
A relaxed but confident debut; Duane Marnell’s appealing vocals, the uncluttered arrangememnts and the use of trumpet and harp add to it’s inventiveness.
Rocwater is one of my happy discoveries of 2006."

Recorded in the mud-brick hut on Kincumba mountain...and mixed on the other side of the valley at The Grove in Somersby, this is true home brew!
with bits o’ soul, funk, & country seeping through their folk-rock sensibilities....and a magic touch for melody....their new self-titled CD, released through MGM/Green, is 14 tracks that’ll make you sing, dance and cry.
If u like the sounds of.......The Band, Crowded House, Gomez, The Beatles, Ryan Adams, Jeff Buckley, Pete Murray, John Mayer, Paul Simon & Jack Johnson...then u will love the sounds that are uniquely Rocwater.

Hey Guys !! Trying hard to make arrangements to come down and see you all play at Laycock St.. Spreading the word up here ,everyone's going to love it once they've heard it !!! all the best, say hi to Duane for me ;)!! xx
Hi Rocwater.I was lucky enough to come and see you play on saturday at the Woodport. As usual you all Rock! The sound at that venue was really bad though. At first I thought maybe it was just my ears, but I asked the people who were standing next to me and they agreed.I even risked my life and approached the sound people to let them know, but was met with a hostile reception.I just know how good it should sound. The only band the sound seemed good for was the band with the cello and violin, the other people agreed too.One guy next to me who works in the technical dept at SBS,said what polished musicians you are and just tried to ignore the sound problems.I told them both when you will be playing on the coast next, and they wanted to see a whole show. So some more fans! I still play your cd heaps, you're my favourite central coast band, and cant wait to see you all play again soon. xoxoAlison
